Descrizione

Old castle built to defend the Benedictine Abbey, it is the Tibet of the Marches! Wonderful walks in the ancient beech forest of Canfaito “de viale de Giganti”.

The village is visited mainly in the summer by the owners of second homes of San Severino Marche.
In Elcito there has never been a store, not even for basic needs, since it was a self-sufficient community until the 1970s. There were two hundred people and they had an intense relationship with their country, a primary source of existence. Currently there are no residents for the whole year but only summer tourism.

Elcito can be reached from San Severino Marche along the road to Apiro up to the hamlet of Castel San Pietro where you take the road, about 5 km, which leads to the village.
